Lake House Distilling Co. is a new addition to the Waynesboro area located at 218 West 5th Street. Owned by Aaron and Tara Lake the distillery dons their own home on their logo which represents their love and passion for the business and new venture they have taken on.
Lake House Distilling Co. began their journey as Aaron began experimenting with wine making which eventually evolved into a passion for spirits as he learned the ins and outs of the distilling process and grew his knowledge and expertise into brandy, bourbon, whiskey and vodka making. The dreams of owning a distillery started to come to fruition in 2016 as Aaron and Tara started the process to establish their business and in May of 2018 they purchased the building which would become the distillery and gutted it to the bones before doing an entire renovation. They finally opened their doors in January of 2020 to the public and only had the opportunity to serve the community for 8-weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, but they kept their doors open and remained optimistic!
This family and pet-friendly hot spot is open and has tons to offer! You can visit Lake House Distilling Company and enjoy a tasting of their meticulously crafted spirits and learn about the distilling process or order one of their signature cocktails, local craft beer or locally supported wines. Bottles of their spirts are also available for purchase as well as to-go cocktails.
There’s something for everyone! Each weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday they have a different food truck featured for patron’s enjoyment and guests can also enjoy pre-packaged cheese boards that are available for purchase at the bar. Guests are also welcome to pack and bring their own picnic to the property as well. On occasion Lake House Distilling Co. will host live music featuring local artists for your entertainment.
Lake House Distilling Co. takes pride in supporting the community and local business by selling locally sourced products. As the pandemic broke, this brand-new establishment also utilized their resources to make hand sanitizer which they generously donated to local first responders, senior living centers, the post office and other area businesses in need. As they remain open to the public, they offer outdoor seating with tables that are appropriately distanced. Patrons may enter the building for bar service which is also set-up to maintain social distance between staff and patrons. Masks are recommended while visiting the establishment, but not required. They are taking extra precautions to keep their property and surfaces sanitized.
Aaron and Tara are thrilled to have been able to maintain their business and serve the community and look forward to hosting locals and visitors in their family-friendly environment. You can keep up with the latest happening at Lake House Distilling Co. Facebook page. Follow here!
