Allison-Antrim Museum, 365 South Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, Pennsylvania 17225 will hold its monthly speaker meeting on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in the German Bank Barn beginning at 7 p.m. The facility is wheelchair accessible.
The speaker for the evening will be Andrew Newman, Letterkenny Army Depot historian. He will give an in-depth discussion on pre-depot Letterkenny, displacement of landowners/renters, the WWII years, the Italian prisoners, and the post-WWII mission.
Newman began working at Letterkenny Army Depot in 2016, when he was appointed as the Depot Records and Information Management Specialist. His duties include Records Manager, Publications Officer, Freedom of Information Act Officer, and Historian. Newman is also involved with Letterkenny public and historical events at the Finley House/Commander’s Quarters.
Before Letterkenny, Newman worked three years at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and four years as a curator at Gettysburg National Military Park. He was an undergraduate at East Stroudsburg University and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Newman has also been involved with historic Fort Loudoun.
