Discover the impact of tourism on Franklin County at Join the Conversation Franklin County Tourism Breakfast on March 12, 7:30 AM to 9 AM, held at the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center on the square of Chambersburg. The staff and board of the Franklin County Visitors Bureau will give updates, spotlight tourism success with a variety of awards, highligh winners of the Always The Right Time To Do The Right Thing Essay Contest, and give a preview of a new way to Explore Franklin County.
The doors will open at 7:00 AM for breakfast of quiche, oatmeal, fruit, assorted muffins and pastries, orange juice, coffee and tea. The program will begin just after 7:30 AM with a look at the growth of tourism in Franklin County. The Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) of the Year Award, Partners for Impact Awards, and Community Impact Award will be announced and awarded. In addition, the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance will receive a ceremonial check for the proceeds of Festival of Trees.
Each year, visitors to Franklin County total more than 500,000. These visitors spend $350 million in lodging, recreation, entertainment, dining and retail purchases. Since the Franklin County Visitors Bureau began promoting the do, dine and stay of Franklin County PA, it has grown to be the largest distributor of Franklin County information.
