The Greencastle Golf Club, an 18-hole championship golf course nestled in the rolling hills of south central Pennsylvania, is under the new and — for the first time — local ownership of Greencastle residents Ron and Beth Powers and Dave and Jenn Swam. Supported by the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, a ribbon cutting with champagne toast will be held on March 16 at 4:30 p.m. in celebration of the start of the 2018 golf season and the grand opening of the newly established Fireside Pub. The event will feature local band Admiral Mouse and will reveal an updated drink and entree menu and with prizes being raffled every hour.
The club, which has the capability of hosting social events and weddings, is a semi-private course located in a 180-home, affluent neighborhood off Williamson Road, Greencastle. Headed by certified PGA pro Ben Powers, the course offers a challenging layout and beautiful views of the rolling terrain with several ponds and wetlands. Five years ago, owners invested over $2 million in capital expenditures to upgrade the professional shop, restaurant and irrigation system. The facility now boasts a full service restaurant, snack bar, golf shop, and a 20-station driving range with more improvements currently underway.
