Franklin County Main Streets have great history, great dining, and great shopping. Each year, tens of thousands of visitors and residents launch from Main Street to explore more of Franklin County.
Over the last five months, 29 South Main Street in Chambersburg has been a swirl of activity. The former home of printing establishments, the property is now Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique, and Franklin County Visitors Bureau is pleased to welcome them to the great shopping sites of Franklin County.
Stephanie Kennedy is the owner of Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique. Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique began as a fun way to make extra cash after Kennedy lost her job during the pandemic in 2021. She began by refinishing furniture, getting plenty of practice for her own home, and then branching out to friends and family. Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique transformed as Kennedy tried idea after idea, eventually doing online sales and business at pop-up locations. The brick-and-mortar boutique is a dream come true for Kennedy. It is a feel-good place with a calm atmosphere and relaxing vibe-inviting and comfortable.
“I love the feeling of the shops of Charleston, SC. So, I wanted to create a boutique with luxury retail—special items found in metropolitan boutiques–with the hospitality and charm of a small town,” explained Kennedy.
The brick-and-mortar boutique is a dream come true for Kennedy. She carefully selects specialty home décor items, women’s clothing, jewelry, and children’s clothing for sale in Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique. The store has a DIY planting and potting nook, custom Chambersburg items, and provides space for artisans to sell wares. Everything comes together to create a cozy feeling and represents the passion Kennedy has for everything she does.
Kennedy invites the public, friends, family, and fellow merchants to a celebration of dreams come true at the Grand Opening Party of Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique on Saturday, November 9, 9 AM to 2 PM with a ribbon cutting at 9:30 AM.
“I love my community, and I love being a business owner in Chambersburg. I look forward to meeting you at Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique.” smiled the proud owner.
