2024 is fast approaching, and Franklin County has a variety of ways to celebrate.
In downtown Chambersburg, Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls take center stage on December 31 as the #1 potato rolls drops to celebrate the new year from 5 PM to 9 PM in Chambers Fort Park. More here. Schedule is:
5 PM – Music by DJ Lex in Chambers Fort Park plus great shopping with the New Year’s Eve Punchcard. Complete the punchcard and be entered to win a downtown gift basket.
7 PM – Candy Drop for Kids by Shafer Equipment Company, Healthy Community Partnership, and Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg & Shippensburg
8:45 PM – $1000 Giveaway
9 PM – Martin’s Potato Roll Drop & Community Wishes
In downtown Waynesboro, a giant chicken nugget is dropping into the sweet-and-sour dippin’ sauce. The nugget is to honor 50 years of McDonald’s on Main Street in Waynesboro. It is just one part of the festivities in the 6th annual Boro Blast. The event will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Main Street Park at 25 E. Main St.,and the KidsZone section of the event will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at The Counting House Banquet & Event Center at 10 W. Main St.
As the McNugget hits the sauce, a net filled with nearly 800 balloons opens at the Main Street Park. Everyone is invited to pop the balloons for a festive start to 2024.
In downtown Shippensburg, it is Drop the Anchor, a FREE family fun event. The anchor dropping take place on King Street between Penn Street and Earl Street. Fun begins at 8 p.m. There will be bounce houses, a 128ft obstacle course & a GIANT slide from Strouse Entertainment! DJ Wheelz will be ringing in the New Year spinning the classics to the latest hits and much more!
