Franklin County Visitors Bureau celebrates history during the month of April.
Join the celebration at the Spring into History Lunch & Learn: History Happened Here.
April was an impactful month in American history.
Consider these key happenings:

April 19, 1775 is recognized as the first shots of the Revolution War. There is a Franklin County connection.

April 9, 1865 marks the surrender of Robert E. Lee. There is a Franklin County connection.

April 14, 1865 is the date of the first assassination of an American President—Abraham Lincoln. There is a Franklin County connection.
FCVB will be highlighting these and more in a 20-minute local history presentation of History Happened Here.
Franklin County has 70 Pennsylvania-designated sites of history and nationally designated historic districts in the downtowns of Chambersburg, Greencastle, Mercersburg, Shippensburg, and Waynesboro.
Lunch of sandwiches, wraps, fruit, salad and cookies will be topped off with Franklin County History Bingo.
Each attendee will receive a Bingo card. Images of local history and landmarks will be displayed on a screen.
As the image appears, the players simply cover the name on their Bingo card.
The visitors bureau will give smaller prizes for single Bingo and a larger prize for the first person to cover all locations on their Bingo card.
Prizes feature local food, beverages, and locally crafted items.
Plus, local history sites and organizations will be displaying information as well as mixing and mingling with attendees.
