Join the Franklin County Visitors Bureau for Afternoon Tea!
Each May, the Visitors Bureau remembers the First Lady of Franklin County, Harriet Lane, who was born in Mercersburg and later served as Hostess of the White House for 15th U.S. President James Buchanan.
Discover the highs and lows of Harriet s life and her continuing legacy to America.
Afternoon tea includes a variety of black, herb, and fruit teas, tea sandwiches, scones, and bite-sized pastries plus flowering arranging and an unusual scavenger hunt.
Along with the fellowship and fun, each participant receives a gift of a teacup, tea samples, and a few surprises.
Event begins at 11:30 AM and runs until 1:30 PM and is being held in the Great Room of the 1865 Franklin County Visitors Bureau ,15 South Main Street in Chambersburg.
Menu: Cucumber, Egg Salad, and Ham Salad Tea Sandwiches, Blueberry Scones, White Chocolate Raspberry Scones, and Bite-sized Assorted Pastries—provided by Affinity Café.
