“Destination ARTS!” is pleased to announce a new art exhibit opening Friday, April 10th in Gallery 20 East, located at 20 East Main Street, Waynesboro, PA.  The exhibit will feature the artwork of students from the art department at Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

 

There will be a special reception at Gallery 20 East to celebrate the opening of the WASH student art exhibit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Light refreshments will be served and music will be provided by members of the Waynesboro Area School District Music Faculty and friends, including Eric Griffith, Kelly Leitzel, Patrick McNamee, Colleen Glenn, and others to be announced.

 

“This is a great opportunity for the community to embrace the talents and hard work of our students.” said high school art instructor Trudy Gembe-Palughi.  Students will be involved with setting up and manning the show.  Instructor Betsy Morningstar said, “I want the students to have the real world experience of conducting an art show from beginning to end.”

 

“Destination ARTS!” continues to provide opportunities for the community to experience downtown Waynesboro from a different perspective.  “Art exhibits such as the high school show are excellent opportunities to show case our students and our community as we work to make Waynesboro a community people want to visit”, said Dave Jordan of Destination ARTS!.  The high school show runs through Sunday, April 26.  Hours of the show will be Friday evenings from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday afternoons from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

 

“Destination ARTS!” currently features Gallery 50 (50 West Main Street), 42 West ARTS (42 West Main Street), Gallery 20 East (20 East Main Street), The Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery (10 East Main Street) and The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro (13 South Church Street).

 

All of the galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, photographs, furniture and more. This weekend, they will be open on Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (not Ceramic Arts Center), Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
