The Chambersburg Area Education Foundation received a $1,400 donation from the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce following the 20th Annual Tim and Susan Cook Memorial One-Mile Race on July 13.Held each year in memory of Tim and Susan Cook, who lost their lives in a tragic car accident in 2002, the race honors their legacy and supports scholarships for Chambersburg Area Senior High School students who exemplify their values. Nearly 100 runners participated in this year’s event, coordinated by Coach Chris Monheim and hosted as part of ChambersFest.

“We deeply appreciate the community’s support of this event, which allows us to celebrate the legacy of Tim and Susan Cook by supporting local students in their honor,” said Angela Schaeffer, director of operations at the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce. The Tim and Susan Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits from race proceeds and donations from individuals, alumni and community groups, provides scholarships to CASHS students throughout the year.
