An Introductory to Handbuilding pottery class will be held at the Ceramic Arts Center, 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268, on Wednesday evenings on March 7, 14, 21, 28 and April 4 from 6:00-9:00. Throughout this course, Lesley Quesada will guide students, showing the principles of handbuilding and the life cycle of ceramics. This 15-hour class will focus on the steps to create basic forms by hand, such as cups and bowls that will build the foundation to create a variety of vessels. Finally, students will learn how to finish and glaze their pieces, creating ready-to-use, functional art!
The course has limited space for adult students and is geared towards those with little or no experience in pottery. Additionally, open studio time to practice your skills will be offered during the session on Saturdays.

This is a beginning pottery class for adults who will learn the basic principles of throwing on the wheel. By the end of the first lesson the student will learn how to center and pull, two actions which allow them to create their first masterpiece. Students with little or no experience are encouraged to register for this 15 hour course.
The class costs $225.00, which includes step by step hands-on guided instruction by Heather Forberger, 25 pounds of stoneware clay, all studio materials, 6 hours of weekend studio time, glazes and firings. A minimum of three students must register to hold the class.
