30th Anniversary: Bonfire Night | Conococheague Institute, Mercersburg
Saturday November 9th, 2024 * 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Learn about the history of the event with Guy Fawkes, engage in Tavern song and dance, games and festivities, archery, wildlife, food and drink, all culminating in an evening Bonfire program at 7:00 PM.
There will be craft vendors and food trucks available throughout the day, a special children’s entertainment performance by Ray Owens, a birds of prey presentation by Miller’s Wildlife and much more!
This is a free community event sponsored by Middletown Valley Bank, Washington County Visitors Bureau, Fast Ink, Liberty Auto & Tire, Americana Corner and M&T Bank
Due to the drought there will not be a real fire on Saturday, but Mercersburg Academy student volunteers have used their theatre skills to make a Bonfire with a stage…under which lights and smoke machines will make a celebratory scene at 7:00 PM this Saturday!
The other activities are on schedule:
Archery from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Ray Owen’s “Hats off to America” at 3:00 PM, Miller’s Wildfire Birds of Prey at 4:00 PM, and an Oakgrove Farm Tavern talk at 5:30 PM.
Plus craft vendors, historic reenactments, food, drinks and games throughout the day.
